TIFFIN, OH (Toledo News Now) - It's been nearly two weeks, but there's still no sign of 14-year-old Madalyn Hiser. The Tiffin teen disappeared on March 22 without a trace.
Now after two unsuccessful searches, the family is trying to raise money to bring Madalyn home. They're hosting a spaghetti fundraiser to raise reward money in hopes of generating tips.
On Friday night, they spent most of the evening preparing for the fundraiser. They did everything from preparing food to getting the raffle items ready.
Family friend Tobi Alfred says the fundraiser wouldn't be possible without help from the community.
"Everything has been donated, so the community has just been amazing. And the raffle items that we have are just beyond compare and I hope everybody shows up,” Alfred said. “Everybody's behind Madalyn and I just hope she gets home to see the support that she's had."
But with the holiday looming and an empty place in their hearts, the family is asking everyone for a little help.
"Maybe say an extra prayer for Madalyn, extra prayer for the family. Just be hopeful, we're going to find her," said Alfred.
The spaghetti fundraiser is at the Eagles in Tiffin on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
