Owner of Temperance bowling alley asks for help identifying thief

TEMPERANCE, MI (Toledo News Now) - The owner of a small business in Temperance is asking the public for help after he says someone stole thousands of dollars from him.

Rich Kenny, owner of ForestView Lanes, says a man walked into the manager's office of the bowling alley and took $3,000 from the open safe.

Kenny says the safe was open, along with multiple doors to the office, so employees could make change for bowlers.

The man was only in the office for a few seconds, but he also took cash off the desk.

“It's disappointing,” Kenny said. “You really are trying to work on a business and grow a business, and to have significant cash loss is devastating and pretty hard for a small business to sustain.”

The man was caught on surveillance video. Kenny is offering a $500 reward for information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the man.

Anyone with information should call Monroe County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-773-2587.
