Patrol: Alcohol a factor in Carroll Township crash, one hurt

CARROLL TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) - One man was seriously injured early Wednesday morning when the Ohio State Highway Patrol says his car left the road and hit several small trees before striking a large tree.

The patrol says 42-year-old Henry Gerschutz was driving northbound on Russell Road around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday when his car left the road for some reason and hit several trees. Troopers say Gerschutz was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and sustained serious injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says alcohol was a factor in the accident.
