SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) - An accident and downed power lines temporarily closed a section of Central Avenue in Sylvania Township Tuesday.
According to a Sylvania Township police dispatcher, a single car hit a utility pole at Moffat and Central, causing power lines to drop.
The Ohio Department of Transportation closed Central Ave between Moffat Road and Holland-Sylvania Road as well as the ramp from I-475/US-23 to Central.
Some businesses along Central Avenue lost power for about 45 minutes because of the crash.
"We don't have a back up generator, but its something we can look into, but it only lasted for 45 minutes so everyone took a lunch break and everything was back to usual," said Ken Foster, general manager at Brown Honda.
Power has since been restored to the area and traffic is again moving.
