Findlay police arrest suspects in pair of aggravated robberies

Findlay police arrested two suspects in a pair of robberies Wednesday evening.

Police were called to a Kroger on Tiffin Avenue just before 10 p.m. Wednesday for a reported robbery. Officers say the male suspect had a knife and cut a male victim, stealing his cell phone.

The suspect fled on foot. The victim was treated at the scene.

While police were searching for the suspect, another robbery was reported at the Circle K on Tiffin Avenue. This one involved two male suspects who approached a man in the parking lot and attempted to steal his vehicle at knife point. Police say the suspects struck the victim but fled on foot. The victim was not injured.

Police found the suspects walking on Fostoria Avenue, just west of the Circle K. They were identified by witnesses from the Circle K robbery. One of the suspects, a 14-year-old who had been reported missing in Findlay that day, was identified by the witness in the Kroger robbery.

The other man arrested was 21-year-old Joe Vera, III, of Arcadia, OH.

Vera was arrested on one count of aggravated robbery, the juvenile for two counts.
