TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - City of Toledo and Lucas County officials are making a plea to Toledo-area businesses to take part in an upcoming job fair for teenagers.
Kistler Ford in west Toledo is just one of the many businesses that'll be hiring teens in the coming months. Toledo's mayor and the Lucas County Commissioners are hoping many more businesses hop on board.
Kistler Ford Sales on West Central Avenue heard that message loud and clear. They will offer social media, website development and consumer interaction positions for teens.
“Children and kids today and teenagers, they need that experience as quick as possible,” said Bobby Jorgensen, owner and president of Kistler Ford Sales. “So we can put them forward and get them in a very productive and positive situation.”
The City of Toledo has hosted this program successfully in the past. Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson says she is expecting this to be a huge success this year for teens and local businesses.
“It's very important that we have opportunities for young people to learn in a great environment over the summer,” she said, “about employment, what it means to be ready for work, to meet deadlines, to be on time, to dress appropriately.”
The teen job fair will be Saturday, April 25 at the Seagate Center from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. For more information on how to register your business for this job fair or how teens can participate, call 419-245-1417.
