Family Video raising money for lymphoma research

Starting Friday and running through March 29, you can join the fight against lymphoma by visiting a Family Video.

(Toledo News Now) - A video rental chain is making it easy for you to donate your loose change for a good cause.

Starting Friday and running through March 29, you can join the fight against lymphoma by visiting a Family Video.

For the fourth year, all Family Video locations are hosting “Round it up for Lymphoma.” Customers are asked to drop off any loose change they may have, with all proceeds going to the Lymphoma Research Foundation and the University of Chicago Medicine comprehensive Care Center.

Over the last three years, Family Video customers raised over $3.5 million.

At the Fostoria location, they're taking it a step further by holding a bake sale inside the store. They're also holding a raffle for local businesses, and a drawing for half off all rentals for a year. Tickets to that are $1.

“We wanted to do a fun event where we would not only bring the community in, but get them involved,” explained store manager Ryan Beeson. “And the response has been great, and so my plan is for the next few years to grow this and make it larger, to have it so big that we have to hold it outside.”

Those interested in donating can also do so at the
