TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - The Toledo Lucas County Health Department says a Lucas County man in his 50s died with the flu earlier this month.

The health department says the man had severe co-morbidities and many other health related issues.

Lucas County Health Commissioner Dr. David Grossman suggests the following 3 steps in order to help protect yourself from contracting the flu: wash your hands, cover your cough and have healthy habits such as staying home when you are sick, ensuring not to infect others.

"Everyone older than six months of age should be vaccinated against the flu every year. If you have not yet been vaccinated this year, it's not too late. When you get vaccinated, you are not just protecting yourself. You are also protecting the people you love," said Dr. Grossman.
