Fostoria Cash Mob helping children in need this Christmas

For three years now, Fostoria Cash Mob has spent the holiday season helping those in need and this year, they will be helping 66 children enjoy Christmas through the Angel Tree.

FOSTORIA, OH (Toledo News Now) - For three years now, the Fostoria Cash Mob has spent the holiday season helping those in need and this year they will be helping 66 children enjoy Christmas through the Angel Tree.

The concept of the tree is to have children, who wouldn't otherwise receive gifts this Christmas, put their name and a wish list on the tree. People can then take a wish list, buy as many items as they'd like, and return them to the tree.

This Angel tree will be at the Fostoria K-Mart until December 19.

Fostoria Cash Mob organizer Greg Flores says this hands on way of giving back is effective in spreading holiday joy.

“Some people don't like to only give $20... The Angel tree gives them an option to come out and feel a little bit closer,” said Flores. “They have a kid's name, they have his or her wish list right in front of them and they can take their kids out and show them about giving back.”

Any wish list items not bought by the 19 will be purchased by Fostoria Cash Mob with fundraising proceeds.

One of those fundraisers, the Community Leader Polar Plunge, is currently raising money and city public figures will be jumping into the city's reservoir on December 19 at 3:30 to show their support.
