Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been suspended for the entire NFL season, due to a failed drug test.
The arbitrator's ruling was released Wednesday afternoon. Gordon met with league officials on Aug. 4 in New York City.
The suspension is effective immediately.
Besides games, Gordon can't practice with the team, attend meetings or other club functions.
The 23-year-old is also facing a drunk driving charge out of North Carolina and will go to court in November.
Statement from Josh Gordon:
"I'd like to apologize to my teammates, coaches, the Cleveland Browns organization and our fans. I am very disappointed that the NFL and its hearing officer didn't exercise better discretion and judgment in my case. I would like to sincerely thank the people who have been incredibly supportive of me during this challenging time, including my family, my agent, my union, my legal team, and the Cleveland Browns staff."
