Looking to join the ranks of alumni such as Olin Kreutz and Dominic Raiola, Fred Ulu-Perry is set for his senior season with the St. Louis Crusaders.

"What we do now with Fred is we have him handle the right side and everybody else takes care of the left side," said offensive coordinator Ron Lee."When we talk about our linemen, like Olin and Raiola, they were exceptional too, but they were 250, 260. Freddy is top shape and runs and moves. He is really an exception."

But, the offensive lineman doesn't let the hype blur his focus on improving.

"That means a lot, but I still got a long way," Ulu-Perry said. "I'm far away from that because those guys are great and I wanna be great just like them or even greater."

With a humble attitude yet fierce stare, the Crusader maintains the mentality of a silent killer determined to take down his opponent.

"You don't say it out loud, but you have to think in your mind that you're the best," he added. "Whoever lines up in front of you, they're going to pay for lining up in front of you and that's the mentality you have to have, but I just like to stay quiet and keep it to myself."

Already committed to UCLA, Ulu-Perry's achievements have garnered national attention.

Putting on one of the best performances at the the national Nike Spark Combine, the linebacker is consistently ranked among the top linemen in the country.

"It's good to be ranked high and all that, but you can't let it get to your head because you're going to start not working out," Ulu-Perry said. "You're not going to do what you did to get there, so it's good to know, but you still have to put in the hard work and just keep going forward."
