The New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski finally made some headway taking part for the first time this summer in 11-on-11 drills per ESPN's Mike Reiss on Monday. He also took part in 7-on-7 drills as well and went "in and out of his routes without an issue" via WEEI.com.

While the Patriots have been keeping an watchful eye on Gronkowski to avoid complications, the All-Pro tight end saw a lot of balls coming his way on Monday.

Gronkowski has been working on team drills such as running routes and catching passes which is encouraging to see, but still have yet to see any blocking drills or full on contact.

The decision on when it will be safe to have Gronkowski play, will be made last minute and it is safe to say the likelihood of seeing any pre season action is slim. In the best interest of the team, having him healthy and ready to go for the regular season showdown on September 7th against the Miami Dolphins is priority.
