TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling 141,000 Interlogix fire detectors.

They were recalled after testing found they were not sounding off.

The Sylvania Fire Department says the smoke detectors are made for professional installation and used primarily in commercial buildings, schools, and apartments. Deputy Chief Mike Froelich says they are only hard wired smoke detectors.

"The smoke detector should be tested on a monthly basis anyways," said Froelich. "Go ahead and continue do that but contact your security company, if you have a monitored security company and hardwired smoke detectors, and they will let you know whether your detectors were involved in this recall."

You should not attempt to disable the alarm yourself. For more information on the recall click here.
