The Indianapolis Colts fell tonight to the New York Giants, in the second preseason game of the year for Indy, 27-26.
The Colts' first-teamers played well, as Andrew Luck completed 12 of 18 passes for 89 yards, and a touchdown, while new Colt, Hakeem Nicks, was the beneficiary of Luck's accuracy, catching 5 balls, for 53 yards. Griff Whalen caught the TD pass, from Luck.
The defense also played solid, as another new Colt signee, linebacker D'Qwell Jackson, sacked Eli Manning. Indy also recovered a fumble on a Giants' kick return, which led to an Adam Vinatieri field goal, one of two he made, in the game. All this helped stake the Colts to a 26-0 lead.
However, the game obviously ended on a sour note, as the Giants back-ups, scored 27 points in the final 10 minutes of the game, to pull off the 'giant' comeback.
For what it's worth, the Colts have now lost both preseason games, and they play the New Orleans Saints, in their third preseason game, next Saturday.
