State Trooper Recovering After Being Hit By Drunk Driver

SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

An Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper is recovering this morning after being hit by a drunk driver in Sylvania Township.

OHSP says Trooper Nicholas Konrad was traveling eastbound on Central Avenue at Reynolds Road a little after 1:00 a.m. when he was struck by a car driven by Michelle Fugate. OHSP says Konrad was attempting to make a left turn onto Reynolds Road when accident happened. 

Konrad was taken to Toledo Hospital and was released a short time later. OHSP says Fugate had minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene. OHSP did not release her blood alcohol level.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Toledo Post.
