The man accused of killing a cat pled not guilty at his arraignment Friday.

D'erise Carson is facing four criminal charges.

The 25-year-old was arrested Thursday evening.

Cleveland Police say Carson slammed the cat to the ground and then set the animal on fire.

The incident happened in early June on West 92nd Street.

Carson remains locked up at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center on a $30,000 bond.
