Adrian Aldi store reopens after renovations

ADRIAN, MI (Toledo News Now) -

A popular discount grocery store in Lenawee County has received a bit of a facelift. Aldi was closed for five weeks as it underwent renovations.

Aldi in Adrian was hopping on Thursday for its reopening.  Shoppers say they're excited to see the new and improved discount grocery store, located on U.S. 223.

Customers were treated to lots of giveaways and the usual discounted prices on food and other items.

Aldi officials say the renovations have transformed the store.

"We have a new cooler and freezer, we added on a reach-in cooler, we added on another check lane," said Brook Stubelt, district manager for Aldi. "It looks like a brand new store; you wouldn't even recognize it."

Aldi mainly carries its own brands. The Aldi store in Adrian has been around for 18 years.
