2-A-Days: Woodlawn

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - In our high school preview we take a look at the Woodlawn Knights. The Knights had some success last year in District 4A and although their top corner Donovan Wilson is off to Texas A&M the Knights still feel confident that they can make a run at a district title.

The Knights have moved some pieces around this season. Last years quarterback James Anderson will be playing safety position and will be one of the leaders on the defense along side highly recruited senior cornerback Henry Black.

Quarterback Tyrone Youngblood will leading a team that's focused on one goal bringing Woodlawn a district title.

Head Coach Jerwin Wilson notices a different swagger about his team this season.

"The expectations are a little higher this year. We're going into this year, expecting to win a district championship. It's our goal going in each year. Definitely having Donovan Wilson, that was a big loss for us. Losing him makes us a better coach and more effective in terms of play calling and putting people in the right situation to be successful."

The defense will be counted on again this season and will be lead by safety James Anderson and Henry Black.

"We had, I think 20 something interceptions last year. So if we get those turnovers, we can be really good."

Woodlawn will take on Haughton on Sept. 5th for their first game of the season.
