MountMinecraft: Mount St. Joseph uses popular game to show off campus

(FOX19) -

Mount St. Joseph University is taking a creative approach to showing off the school's campus.

They are using the popular computer game Minecraft as a virtual tour guide for potential students.

According to technology website Engadget, Minecraft is a massive, first-person game that focuses on crafting and exploration. Objects in the game world are made up of 1X1 blocks that can be formed to create just about anything.

Mount St. Joseph invited high schoolers to test out the game. One student who tried it said "I played Minecraft before and it was really realistic and pretty neat to see everything, how it was made."

The MountMinecraft game launches Wednesday, so users can try it out for themselves. It features campus structures like the Seton Center, Schuler Field and Mater Dei Chapel. Check it out here: http://bit.ly/VjTKV5.
