BG officials take extra steps to prevent water crisis

BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Officials in Bowling Green are taking extrameasures to make sure the city is prepared in case a water crisis were to everhappen there.

​Staff at Bowling Green's water treatment plant have increased their testingsince the Toledo water crisis, testing daily instead of weekly.

At this week's public utilities meeting, officialsdiscussed even more possibilities that could help keep the water safe.

"There has been some talk that we couldexpand our membrane system to actually double the capacity or maybe change outour GAC vessels," said Chad Johnson, superintendent of the Bowling GreenWater Treatment Plant.

The plant's GAC vessels are already changed outsix at a time per year, but they're looking to possibly change out all 12.
