3 new officers sworn in for BGSU Police

BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

There are three new facesat the Bowling Green State University Police Department. The new officers weresworn in Monday morning.

Three lieutenants are setto retire at the end of this year. The police chief says with the school yearjust around the corner, they wanted to make sure the department remains fullystaffed.

"Coming in just a coupleweeks here, we'll have almost 6,000 people living on campus," said Chief MonicaMoll. "It's kind of a city within a city here, and we're excited to be up tofull staffing."

The new recruits say they'reexcited to start the training process. Officers Lopez and Polin will head tothe police academy in Columbus for 17 weeks, and Officer Meyers will begin trainingin the field this week.
