Findlay Trojans hoping for comeback in the TRAC

FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Last year, the Findlay Trojans played a lot of young kids on their football team. When you play in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference, that can lead to a rough year.

For the Trojans, that meant a disappointing 2-and-8 season.

"There's not a lot of chances to learn on the run, I guess," said Coach Mark Ritzler. "You've got to be ready to go from week one, and then when you hit that first TRAC game in week four, you've got to be ready to go or you're going to take your lumps."

"We have one year under our belts," said Quarterback Brandon Muehl. "We have a ton of starters back, so a year under our belts is definitely an advantage."

Last year in his first year starting, Muehl threw over 1,700 yards. Now as a senior, he will be a key part of the Findlay offense.

"Our goal as a team, and me personally, is to take us to week 11, so that's what we're going to do," said Muehl.

"We've got a lot of kids that can do some things with the ball in their hands, and our quarterback's doing a good job of spreading things around," said Ritzler. "That's what we feel really good about."

Findlay will be tested early this year with some tough non-league games against Anthony Wayne and Southview before their grind through the TRAC.
