Chiaverini says he warnedcounty officials there were personal records inside, but says he's fed up afterfinding those records were not properly destroyed.

"My customers had the expectationof privacy, the expectation of security," he said. "I've done an excellent jobof doing so, up until possession was taken."

Online records show thecounty took possession of the business in 2012. Two years later, Chiaverininever thought he'd spend his day digging through what he says the county triedto throw away.

Names, addresses, socialsecurity numbers and even copies of drivers' licenses were scattered on theground or thrown in the trash on Friday.

"I've spent the whole daygoing through trash piles, picking out records that [the county] wanted acompany to just go and dump," Chiaverini said.

He says his records dateback several decades, and thousands of people could have information on thosepapers.
