(Toledo News Now) -

The Ohio State Highway Patrol seized over 1,000 ecstasy pills near Columbus over the weekend.

On Saturday, July 26, troopers stopped a vehicle traveling east on US 33 in Fairfield County for speeding and marked lanes violations. OSHP says upon approaching the vehicle, troopers smelled marijuana.

The passenger of the car, John Solomon, 38, of Detroit, handed over a small amount of marijuana. The troopers then searched the vehicle and found 1,152 ecstasy pills under the plastic liner of the vehicle's trunk.

Solomon and the driver, Denean Brown, 37, also from Detroit, were both arrested and charged with possession and trafficking of a schedule I drug.
