Cultural Pass program celebrates milestone

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Summer is not quite over Monday a seasonal milestone was celebrated in Louisville.

Mayor Greg Fischer and the cultural organizations announced 40,000 of the new Cultural Passes have been distributed to youth and their families.

The passes allow free visits to visit museums and attractions in the city in an effort to keep children active and learning throughout the summer.

Jeff O'Brien, with Vision Louisville, said, “We couldn't be more thrilled at the numbers we are seeing. Most of the numbers are going to our low income zip codes coming for the first time."

If you are interested in getting a Cultural Pass you can pick them up at any Louisville Library or Metro Parks Community Center. The passes are good through August 13.
