Call 11 for Action: City takes step to clean up abandoned north Toledo homes

Some progress has been made in one north Toledo neighborhood after complaints of blight.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Some progress has been made in one north Toledo neighborhood after complaints of blight.

A few weeks ago, residents on the 2800 block of Warsaw Street were complaining about abandoned homes. After they contacted Call 11 for Action, the city has been put in touch with the residents and efforts have been made to clean the area up.

Resident Gary Rogolsky says he's received a letter from the Lucas County Land Bank saying they've begun the process to deal with one of the abandoned homes.

"It makes me feel good that at least somebody is paying attention, that something is being done other than being ignored," Rogolsky said. "That's exactly how most of us on this block felt for the last two years – we were just being ignored."

He says even if it takes a little while longer to get the abandoned homes demolished, he's happy that the city is now taking steps to make it happen.

If you have a problem you need help with, contact Call 11 for Action online or call 419-255-2255.
