Point Place residents want end to vandalism

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Residents of a quiet Point Place neighborhood say they're being bullied by vandals. Over the past several weeks, several people living behind Shoreland Elementary say they've found their property damaged.

One resident had professional security cameras installed after being hit by vandals twice this summer. On Sunday, they were hit a third time.

Their cameras caught a group of three or four people walking near a pool, then throwing cement blocks, wood and potted plants into the pool.

Residents have filed police reports and continue to keep an eye out, but they say the crimes are still happening.

"We'd like to see it stopped," said Susan, one of the victims. "This is a nice community and we think these are individuals from this community. It's very sad that they're destroying their own community."

The residents believe the vandals are teens who live in the area, and they want to get the word out so everyone watches for suspicious activity at night.
