Corey Kluber did his best to try and earn an All-Star bid by dominating the Royals in Sunday's 4-1 rubber match victory.
The righty struck out 10 and almost went the distance, giving up just four hits on the day to earn the win, his eighth of the year. He's now fourth in the majors in strikeouts with 137 on the season.
Carlos Santana and Yan Gomes both homered in the second inning to give the Indians the lead for good. The solo blast by Santana was his 14th of the year, while Gomes' two-run bomb was his 10th.
Michael Brantley added to his all-star resume by going 2-for-4 and adding his 57th RBI of the year.
The Indians continue their homestand with the Yankees on Monday night at Progressive Field.
