Suspect charged for March home burglary

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man in a Colorado jail is facing charges for a burglary in the Metro earlier this year.

An arrest warrant charges Nathan Lee Gardner, 46, is accused of breaking in through the back door of a home sometime between March 21 and March 23 taking a semi-automatic pistol, among other items.

The burglary was captured on the video surveillance system of the home and the homeowner recognized Gardner, who is a neighbor.

When Louisville Metro Police watched the video they also recognized Gardner from previous dealings with him.

Police said a Gardner’s girlfriend contacted the homeowner and admitted that he committed the burglary. She also paid to get the gun taken in the burglary back from the person Gardner sold it to.

Gardner was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections late July 2 being returned from Denver.
