HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
No stranger to the tournament stage, Michelle Wie is set to compete in the 2014 Women's U.S. Open in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
The Punahou alum is currently sitting at 11th in the Rolex Rankings and will be looking to snag her first career major victory.
Out of 12 starts, Wie has landed in the top 10 on the leaderboard eight times.
Finding her stride, the Hawaii native is looking forward to what the weekend has in store.
"Yeah, I've played in a lot of U.S. Opens. I have played in a lot of events, but I really feel like this is the beginning. I really feel like there's so much ahead of me and I'm really grateful for everything that's happened and I can't wait for the future," said Wie.
This will be Wie's 11th U.S. Open. Her best showing came in 2006 when she secured a third place finish.
The tournament begins tomorrow, airing at 9:00 a.m. on ESPN2.
