Man accused of starting fire at girlfriend's apartment building

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man has been arrested after allegedly starting a fire inside his girlfriend's Nashville apartment building over the weekend.

Police say 11 people were inside the building when the blaze started Friday night on the 2400 block of 25th Avenue North.

Donald Brown's girlfriend told police that Brown poured rubbing alcohol all over her and her bed before using a cigarette lighter to ignite the fire.

Brown is charged with attempted criminal homicide and aggravated arson and is in the Metro jail on a $300,000 bond.
