Celebrate Father’s Day around Toledo

Father's Day is Sunday June 15 and we want to make sure you have plenty of fun things to do with Dad. Check out these activities happening in and around Toledo:

Holland Strawberry Festival complete with games, ribs, and a strawberry bakeoff. It will be Sunday Noon - 10:00 PM at Community Homecoming Park on Angola Road in Holland. Friday the event will be open 4 p.m. to midnight, and Saturday noon to midnight.

Toledo Mud Hens Baseball Game versus Buffalo Bison at 6 p.m. with fireworks! Games will also be held Friday night and Saturday night at 7 p.m. with fireworks as well.

Bring your appetite to the Father's Day barbeque at the Toledo Zoo Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time.

Throw the Frisbee or try some fishing at the Toledo Metroparks such as Pearson Park in Oregon or Farnsworth on River Road in Waterville.

If you liked the first one, you'll be sure to have fun at this screening. Bring the whole family to watch How To Train Your Dragon 2 (also showing in 3D) at Franklin Park. 3D showings Sunday at this theater will be at 11a.m. 1:40 p.m. 4:20 p.m. 7 p.m. and 9:40 p.m.

Check out weapon demonstrations and medieval knights all day Saturday and Sunday at Muster on the Maumee located at Fort Meigs on River Road in Perrysburg.

Score a tee time with dad at one of these Toledo area public golf courses:  Valleywood Golf Club in Swanton, Detwiler Golf Club in Toledo, South Toledo Golf Club, Spuyten Duval in Sylvania, and Cottonwood Executive Course in Sylvania.

Airplane rides for kids ages 8 to 17 available by EAA Young Eagle Flights. It is at Toledo Executive Airport all day Saturday and Sunday.  

Compete in or watch the Racing for Recovery Maumee Bay State Park Triathlon and Duathlon Saturday and Sunday at Maumee Bay State Park in Oregon.

View the lovely Maumee River on the Sandpiper Boat at Promenade Park 8-10 p.m. Sunday for $20 per person.

Laugh at the musical comedy Young Frankenstein by Mel Brooks Sunday 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Toledo Repertoire Theatre.
