Work was originally scheduled to start on the project on Monday, June 2, but has been postponed until Monday, June 9.

PETTISVILLE, OH (Toledo News Now) - The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will postpone work on the Pettisville Safe Routes to School project for one week.

Work was originally scheduled to start on the project on Monday, June 2, but has been postponed until Monday, June 9.

ODOT says they are working with community members to see how many trees can be saved in the residential neighborhood near Pettisville Elementary School.

Currently, over 40 trees are slated for removal to install sidewalks and improve crosswalks around the school. 31 trees will be replanted as part of the project.

Safe Routes to Schools aims to improve safety on school routes.
