SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Two new shops are open in Sylvania: The Little White House and The Studio. The ribbon has been cut and the stores are ready for business. City officials say that these two new shops are a perfect fit for Sylvania.

"I think we have a real niche market in our downtown and these shops are great and I think fit the clientele who are visiting our downtown," said Bill Sanford, Economic Development Director in Sylvania.

The Little White House and The Studio are both quaint. They can be found right behind the Heaven's Gate Soy Candle Shop, another unique store.

"Everything is kind of reused, refurbished things from the past that we think that people might be able to use for their homes," said Jacquie Olender of The Little White House and Heaven's Gate Soy Candle.

"I do design and make all the jewelry. One of the different things about it is that it's all recycled," said Raechel Kolling, owner of The Studio.

The Chamber of Commerce says shoppers now have a few more distinctive places to shop and it's very good for Sylvania's economy as well.

"People love Main Street. Main Street is what makes a downtown so whenever you have not only a historical village but a lot of little shops around it, it really makes a new shopping experience with a little twist of history," said Pat Nowak, President, Sylvania Chamber of Commerce.

You can find these new shops in the 5700 block of North Main Street.
