TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Police are investigating after a robbery at the Stop & Go on Airport Highway near South Byrne in south Toledo and burglary at a nearby apartment complex. Police believe the two incidents are related.

Two suspects allegedly took a purse from a woman's car at the Stop & Go.

Police believe later in the evening, the same suspects beat up a man at a nearby apartment complex before taking his backpack, which contained a gaming system.

The second victim later went to the hospital after being beaten.

Customers at Stop & Go say they usually just stop by the convenience store for gas or snacks, but they do say the rash of recent robberies worries them. The convenience store has seen a series of vicious robberies the past month, and it has customers concerned about their safety.

"They're open 24 hours, but, I will only come in the morning because it's so much you have to worry about," said one customer. "I normally wouldn't stop by a gas station until the morning because it's daylight outside and nine times out of 10, if anything happens, someone will see it."

Police did not say if this incident is connected to the string of carryout robberies that have happened in the same area over the last few weeks.

The manager at Stop & Go says he's aware of the string of robberies, including the one at his store a night earlier, but still wants his customers to feel safe. He says they are working with police to try and find the suspects responsible.

No arrests have been made in these thefts. If you have any information about these robberies, call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111.
