Run or Dye in Perrysburg Saturday May 17

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

"Thousands of participants will 'Give Love' in custom colors as they celebrate life, friendship, fitness and fun."

WHAT: The Run or Dye ‘Your City. Your Color. Your Vote.' Give Love® Tour is bringing the colors of the rainbow to the Toledo area on Saturday, May 17. The color-blasted 5k will kick off at 9 a.m. and feature custom-colored showers of safe, eco-friendly, plant-based cornstarch dye at least five Dye Stations for a day of full color fun. Run or Dye is the first color 5k to offer more than four color stations.

Toledo will also be able to use the Run or Dye color voting widget to choose what colors they get blasted with throughout the 5k route. As more people register for the race, Run or Dye will add additional Dye Stations to the stationary five stations for an extra blast of fun. Afterwards participants will have the option to take part in the Run or Dye world-famous Dye Festival where they'll "Tie-Dye the Sky" with an explosion of colors in the ultimate celebration of life, friendship, fitness, and fun.

Run or Dye will be partnering with the local Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio and will donate a portion of the race proceeds to them. Run or Dye is also asking for volunteers for the event.

WHEN: Saturday, May 17, 2014, 9 A.M. Detailed schedule is as follows:

  • 9:00 am – Run or Dye 5k begins
  • 9:45 am – Finish Festival
  • 10:00 am – Tie-Dye the Sky (every 15 minutes)
