Vote to get an unleashed dog park in Toledo

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - A local group is competing for a new city dog park. It's something Toledo Unleashed has been trying to do for quite some time and with the click of a mouse button, you could help the city of Toledo get that dog park after all.

Dog lovers in Toledo say a dog park is exactly what they need.

"I think a dog park would be great," said Glenn White.

White is the proud owner of Juno. He bought the fun-loving 4-legged lady a few months ago and says a dog park would allow her the chance to run free while getting to know other dogs. Toledo Unleashed is competing for a new dog park with a contest being held by Pet-Safe.

The group has been working toward getting an unleashed dog park in the city for a long time, but hasn't been able to raise the funds to make it happen. The contest is awarding a grand prize of $100,000 and four other cities could win $25,000.

White encourages you to vote.

"I think a lot of people are kind of in the same boat with wanting a place to take their dog and get it off the leash and socialize and I think it would be good for the community," said White.

It's as easy as a mouse click and maybe your vote will be the one that decides if Toledo will get that dog park after all.

Toledo Unleashed's Facebook page says You may vote twice a day; once on the petsafe webpage and once on PetSafe Facebook page. To cast your webpage vote, go to
