WHITEHOUSE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

While students are winding down their days in the classroom, their parents also went to school Monday night to learn a lesson that could keep their kids safe.

Dozens of parents came to the auditorium at Anthony Wayne High School to hear from communications expert Richard Guerry. He's already conducted thousands of similar seminars in schools all over the country, focusing on the dangers of social media and cyberbullying.

Moms and dads listened, and some took notes, as Guerry broke down how social media sites work, and how easily their kids can be bullied or manipulated.

He also warned them about sexting and how their children's lives can be changed by just one inappropriate photo.

"I would encourage parents to monitor their kids' social media activity because we know kids are going to make mistakes. And it's important for them to understand that they are going to make those mistakes and how can we learn from those mistakes," said Anthony Wayne superintendent Dr. Jim Fritz.

Fritz says parents can help their kids make the right choices, and even suggested being right by their side, as they post their comments or pictures.

In school on Monday and Tuesday, Anthony Wayne students from grades 3 through 12 will get their own training on these dangers.

After double overtime, the Toledo Walleye came out on top and beat the Indy 3-2 Thursday night for a sweep in the series. Even though the fish had a 3-0 lead in the first round playoff series, the toughest thing to do in hockey is to beat a desperate team on their home ice.  Halfway through a second overtime Kyle Bonis sets up Christian Hillbrich to score the game winning goal.  The Walleye now advances to the second round. They will play the winner of the Fort Wayne and ...
