Delay in trial after a doctor was involved in crash with motorcyclist

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

There was another delay Friday May 9 in the trial for the man accused of killing a motorcyclist. Police say a doctor, on his way to the hospital, hit a motorcyclist.

Many family members were in court on both sides. Family members on the victim's side burst into tears when the judge granted the continuance.

The judge was forced to continue the trial to late June after the state requested to call two new expert witnesses. In order for those witnesses to be called in trial the defense needs to be allowed 21-days to review information about those witnesses.

This past August Larry Hilton was killed when police say Dr. Nabil Ebraheim pulled out in front of his motorcycle. Ebraheim is now facing a vehicular homicide charge for that accident. The charge is a misdemeanor. He faces 90-days in jail and a fine if found guilty.

The trial has been rescheduled for June 26th.
