Stranger danger incident involving 11-year-old girl reported in east Toledo

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Parents of an 11-year-old girl reported a stranger danger incident Monday May 5 to Toledo Police. The victim's mother says she has been spreading the word on what happened to her daughter so it doesn't happen to another child.

The incident happened just after 9:00 p.m. Monday morning at Idaho and White in East Toledo. The victim's mother says her daughter was walking to Raymer Elementary when she was stopped. A white man with a dark beard rolled his window down and asked for the little girl to get in his car.

Police say the girl got away and ran back home. The victim told police the car is dark blue or black and is an older model with four doors. She described rust around the wheel wells and remembers it had a loud muffler.

Toledo Police are investigating this possible case.
