TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - There are nearly 20 reasons why the Lucas County Health Department will make a return visit to a local shop.
A follow-up inspection is needed at Lil Sheba on West Alexis Road after an initial visit on April 25 led to 19 violations. Inspectors say the person in charge at the time of the visit wasn't food safety certified. They also found a microwave splattered with food, dirt and grease build-up by the fryers and the facility's ceilings, fans and air vents in need of cleaning.
A total of 12 violations were served at the Gourmet Garden restaurant on Monroe Street. Inspectors say a screen door needs to be repaired to avoid pests from getting inside. Also, a sink wasn't stocked and raw shell eggs were being stored above produce, which is a cross contamination risk.
Six violations racked up at Biggby's on Madison Avenue. Inspectors noted a sink not draining well and damaged floor tiles. Another inspection is scheduled to ensure paper towels are stocked at a sink.
