TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The United States Department of Health and Human Services has accepted a plan by Flower Hospital, meaning the hospital will be allowed to continue accepting Medicaid and Medicare.

The hospital had been in jeopardy of losing the ability to accept payment from the programs after an alleged breach of patient privacy. Payment could have been cut off as soon as May 9, 2014 if a plan to correct the problem was not submitted and accepted.

Next, a team from the Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will visit the hospital to ensure that the problem has been corrected.
