Police: Suspicious device found on I-75 may have been purposefully taped to a car

(Toledo News Now) -

Police believe the suspicious device found along I-75 may have been attached to a car. They say they think it may actually be a pipe bomb that was purposefully taped onto someone car that fell off.

The black tape on the device is what makes police think it may have been purposefully taped to a car.

Police say they found a wick and gun powder inside.

"It appears as though it may have been placed and fell off. That's what it kind of looks like, but we are going to, again we are going into the forensics of that device, see if we can develop any evidence that leads to anybody and to see in fact if it was a viable device," said Sergeant Joe Heffernan, Toledo Police Department.

Heffernan says the Bureau of Criminal Investigation is still processing the device. He says it could take anywhere from days to months.
