14-year-old in west Toledo standoff arraigned on robbery, burglary charges

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A 14-year-old suspect who police used tear gas to subdue inside a west Toledo home Monday, April 28 was arraigned in Lucas County Juvenile Court Tuesday.

The teen faces 3 counts of aggravated robbery and 1 count of burglary. Police say the charges are related to a robbery and beating that happened in south Toledo.

The situation began Monday afternoon when a caller told police one of her relatives was inside her home in the 800 block of Sibley Road with a weapon. Police, EMS and a SWAT team were dispatched to the home, and eventually used tear gas before entering the house and arresting the Rogers High School student.

Police say the 14-year-old faces no gun charges because no gun was found.
