Former Browns Quarterback Bernie Kosar pled no contest Monday in connection with his drunk driving arrest.

Kosar pled to the lesser charge of reckless operation. He paid $1069 in court costs and fines and was given a 10 day suspended jail sentence.

The former NFL star was stopped in Solon last September for speeding. Officials tell 19 Action News he was going 74mph in a 50mph construction zone with workers on the job site.

The officer says when he asked Kosar for his license, Kosar handed over two credit cards. The officer also noted a strong odor of alcohol coming from Kosar's person. He also failed the field sobriety tests.

Kosar reportedly told police he could not perform the sobriety tests because of multiple knee and ankle surgeries because "his line couldn't block." Kosar was the quarterback for the Browns from 1985 to 1993.

Kosar's court appearance comes just days after the Browns announced he will no longer be broadcasting their preseason games.
