Candlelight vigil held for missing boaters

Two boaters are still missing Friday April 25 night after a tragedy on Lake Erie. Officials say the boat they were on capsized. The bodies of the other two people on board have since been recovered. All four are believed to have drowned.

Friday night, hundreds of people from all over Northwest Ohio came together at Turtle Point Marina for a memorial. The beach was packed with friends, family and coworkers.

Chinese lanterns filled the sky. The group that gathered says the lanterns serve as a memorial for the two who have passed away, and hope the lanterns light the way to bring the other two people home.

It has been more than a week since the accident happened and community members say they want to do what they can to bring the families some sort of closure.

"I wanted to show everyone they weren't just two fishermen, they were friends and family. I would have never guessed this many people would show up but I'm ecstatic that they did," said organizer Paul Lis.
