Car hits Lake Township home

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a car slammed into a home in Lake Township Wednesday evening.

LAKE TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a car slammed into a home in Lake Township Wednesday evening.

It happened just around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 26000 block of Lemoyne Road in Lake Township. The OSHP says Mary Gaines, 73, of Gregory, MI, was driving a Ford Contour northbound on Lemoyne and drove off the right side of the road. After driving off the road, she struck a tree, and then a house, coming to rest next to the house.

Troopers say four people were in the home at the time, but were uninjured. The house only received minor damage.

The OSHP says Gaines received minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed. The OSHP believes a medical condition may have caused Gaines to lose control.
