Girl Scouts shipping over 3,500 cases of cookies to troops

The Girl Scouts of Western Ohio are giving back by donating cookies to troops.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - The Girl Scouts of Western Ohio are giving back by donating cookies to troops.

Those serving overseas rarely get a taste of home, but the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio are helping them get their hands on a few Thin Mints, Tagalongs and many other Girl Scout cookies.

When Girl Scouts were out selling cookies this year, they give people in the community the opportunity to purchase cookies for heroes in action.

The Girl Scouts of Western Ohio teamed up with heroes in action six years ago, giving troops overseas a taste of home.

We support our community. That's the girl scout way and serving our men and women in the military is a big part of that," said Jennifer Green with the Girl Scouts of America.

Over 3,500 cases of Girl Scout cookies were donated.
