AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

The Auburn Police Department says reports of an alleged threat were initially reported to the police department on March 26, 2014 and since that time investigators have interviewed numerous people regarding the note. APD has also provided a copy of the message to the FBI for analysis.

The threatening message reads:

"To whom it may concern
April 16th 2014 I will unleash a rampage of biblical proportion across this tiny campus... You have been warned."

Auburn University sent out an alert canceling classes Wednesday after parents and students expressed concern over the threat that was made in a written message found on a bathroom stall on campus.

The campus alert stated:

"AU Alert: Classes canceled and all normal operations are suspended for Wednesday after students and parents expressed anxiety over the threat. Authorities still believe that the threat is not credible. If you see any suspicious activity report it to police at 911 or by calling 334-501-3100."

Classes and normal operations at Auburn are scheduled to resume at 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

Auburn University says it, along with local and federal law enforcement officers continue investigating the report of the threatening message about campus.

Reports Tuesday of a suspicious person on campus and a photo circulating on social media that connected the threat to the anniversary of the Virginia Tech tragedy raised legitimate concerns among the campus community, the University said, adding that while authorities were not confident that the alleged threat represented any danger, security was increased.

The Virginia Tech massacre was a school shooting that took place on April 16, 2007 on the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. A total of 32 people died and 17 others were injured in the massacre.

Auburn police say they will continue to investigate to determine who left the message, adding that the creation of a threatening message intended to alarm others that results in the disruption of a school is a Class C Felony.

After double overtime, the Toledo Walleye came out on top and beat the Indy 3-2 Thursday night for a sweep in the series. Even though the fish had a 3-0 lead in the first round playoff series, the toughest thing to do in hockey is to beat a desperate team on their home ice.  Halfway through a second overtime Kyle Bonis sets up Christian Hillbrich to score the game winning goal.  The Walleye now advances to the second round.
