(WMC-TV) - Most people dodged the weather Sunday, but a few dozen people in one pocket of Collierville are cleaning up after taking the business end of a powerful overnight storm.

A tree and other assorted debris, including a busted window, are just some of the damage at Dory Baldwin's house.

"All of a sudden something like hit the kitchen window. It sounded like a brick, somebody had thrown a brick through my picture window," said Baldwin. "It lasted just a few minutes, but it caused all this damage."

Her Collierville neighborhood is cleaning up after a storm rolled through just after 2 a.m. Monday morning. A storm for which neighbors say they had no warning.

"Wasn't time to be frightened. Wasn't time. It was just ... It went so fast," said Collierville resident Faye Peak.

Peak says she lived through one tornado decades ago in Fayette County, and believes she just did it again.

"I know it was a tornado. I've heard one before," Peak added.

National Weather Service Meteorologists toured the neighborhood to survey the damage and say the winds left damage in its wake.

That is fortunately no more serious, than a little clean up can handle.

"We're lucky. We're thankful. I could've been out here letting my dog out at 2 in the morning and got hit by a tree," noted Baldwin.

The National Weather service says it will study the damage, and the data and will soon make a final determination about what hit.
